2017 Solar Eclipse August Event Schedule
August 1-4
Starting Tuesday, August 1st, from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock the library will be showing The Discovery Channel’s “How The Universe Works” hosted by Mike Rowe, an eight episode program.  We will be showing two episodes daily. Tuesday through Friday.
 
August 8-11
Starting Tuesday, August 8th, from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock the library will be showing “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” hosted by astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, a thirteen episode program.  We will be showing two episodes daily. Tuesday through Friday.
 
August 15-18
 Starting Tuesday, August 15th, we will continue “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock.
Thursday, August 17th, at 5:30 pm, The Globe Library will be our partner and host for a special educational presentation by the Tonto National Park Service at the Globe Council Chambers. Location:  City of Globe Municipal Building, City Council Chambers (located at Veteran's Memorial Park, 150 N. Pine St.) 
Friday, August 18th, the Miami Library will be showing the film “Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto” from 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock. This intense, thrilling historical film is in the Mayan language, subtitled and rated R.
 
August 21- The Big Event
Monday, August 21st, from 9am to 12 noon, we will meet at 9am and witness the partial solar eclipse in front of Miami’s Bullion Plaza Museum and Cultural Center, 150 N. Plaza Circle. Refreshments will be provided by The Loyal Order of Moose Globe 2014 as a community service partner.
