Adventure Begins at Globe Public Library in 2024

Globe Public Library will be closed from Saturday, December 23, 2023 through Monday, January 1, 2024. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 with a year-long theme of Adventure Begins at Globe Public Library.  What kind of adventure can you start at Globe Public Library?

On Tuesday, January 2, Chair Aerobics will get your heart pumping in a half-hour workout starting at noon. Kids can then explore the wonder of Nebulas at Kids Corner at 5:30 pm.

On Wednesday, January 3, explore the world of games. Game Night starts at 5 pm with a variety of games including, board games, card games, and dice games. Keep the excitement going in a table top role-playing game at 7 pm. We are currently playing The End of the World, a zombie apocalypse role-playing game. What would you do?

Thursday, January 4, is a day to relax and have fun with Thoughtful Thursday at 1 pm. Kids in the Kitchen will be learning new skills at 4 pm. We will finish off by taking a stroll downtown at the Walk/Run Club at 5 pm. If you are up for a challenge you can start one of our two Literary Journeys, March to Mordor based on the Lord of the Rings or Wandering Oz based on the Wizard of Oz.

Friday, January 5, is a day of movement and movies. We start with Kids Yoga at 9:30 am. This half-hour of yoga is designed with children in mind. Parents are welcome to come and play with us. At Noon, Rachel Hansen will lead an hour of Beginning Yoga for those interested. We finish up the day with a movie in the meeting room of the library. Popcorn and water are available to all who come. We encourage you to bring other movie favorites with you. No alcohol or smoking is allowed and children must come with an adult.
